BNV : ্রভু যিহূদার ঈশ্বরের প্রেরিত এক জনকে বৈথেলে যাবার জন্য এবং বেদীর ওপরে পূজো করবার বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলবার জন্য ডেকে পাঠালেন| যখন সেই ভাববাদী বৈথেলে পৌঁছলেন তখন রাজা যারবিয়াম বেদীর সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে ধূপধূনো দিচ্ছিলেন|তিনি গিয়ে ঐ য়জ্ঞবেদীকে সম্বোধন করে বললেন, “দায়ূদের পরিবারে য়োশিয নামে এক বালক জন্মাবে| যাজকরা এখন য়জ্ঞবেদীতে পূজো দিচ্ছ, কিন্তু য়োশিয একদিন এই সমস্ত যাজকদের য়জ্ঞবেদীর ওপরেই হত্যা করবে| এখন যাজকরা য়ে বেদীতে ধূপধূনো জ্বালাচ্ছে সেই বেদীতেই মানুষের হাড় পুড়িয়ে য়োশিয তা ব্যবহারের অয়োগ্য করে তুলবে|”
KJV : And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.
YLT : And lo, a man of God hath come from Judah, by the word of Jehovah, unto Beth-El, and Jeroboam is standing by the altar -- to make perfume;
RV : And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Beth-el: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
RSV : And behold, a man of God came out of Judah by the word of the LORD to Bethel. Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
ASV : And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of Jehovah unto Beth-el: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
ESV : And behold, a man of God came out of Judah by the word of the LORD to Bethel. Jeroboam was standing by the altar to make offerings.
ERVEN : The Lord commanded a man of God from Judah to go to the city of Bethel. King Jeroboam was standing at the altar offering incense when the man of God arrived.

KJV : And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.
YLT : and he calleth against the altar, by the word of Jehovah, and saith, `Altar! altar! thus said Jehovah, Lo, a son is born to the house of David -- Josiah his name -- and he hath sacrificed on thee the priests of the high places who are making perfume on thee, and bones of man are burnt on thee.`

ESV : And the man cried against the altar by the word of the LORD and said, "O altar, altar, thus says the LORD: 'Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name, and he shall sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who make offerings on you, and human bones shall be burned on you.'"
ERVEN : The Lord had commanded the man of God to speak against the altar. He said, "Altar, the Lord says to you: 'David's family will have a son. His name will be Josiah. The priests of the high places are now burning incense on you, but Josiah will offer the priests on you and burn human bones on you, so you can never be used again!'"

BNV : এসমস্ত ঘটনা য়ে সত্যি সত্যি ঘটতে চলেছে সে বিষয়ে ঈশ্বরের লোক উপস্থিত সবাইকে প্রমাণ দিলেন| তিনি বললেন, “আমি যা বললাম তা য়ে সত্যি সত্যি ঘটবে সে কথা প্রমাণের জন্য প্রভু আমাকে বলেছেন, ‘এই বেদী ভেঙ্গে দু টুকরো হয়ে সমস্ত ছাই মাটিতে ছড়িয়ে পড়বে|”‘
KJV : And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This [is] the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that [are] upon it shall be poured out.
YLT : And he hath given on that day a sign, saying, `This [is] the sign that Jehovah hath spoken, Lo, the altar is rent, and the ashes poured forth that [are] on it.`
RV : And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken: Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
RSV : And he gave a sign the same day, saying, "This is the sign that the LORD has spoken: `Behold, the altar shall be torn down, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.'"
ASV : And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which Jehovah hath spoken: Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
ESV : And he gave a sign the same day, saying, "This is the sign that the LORD has spoken: 'Behold, the altar shall be torn down, and the ashes that are on it shall be poured out.'"
ERVEN : The man of God gave proof to the people that this would happen. He said, "This is the proof that the Lord told me about. He said, 'This altar will break apart, and the ashes on it will fall onto the ground.'"

BNV : রাজা যারবিয়াম ঈশ্বরের লোকের কাছ থেকে বৈথেলের বেদীর কথা শুনে বেদী থেকে হাত সরিয়ে নিয়ে সেই লোককে দেখিয়ে বলল, “ওকে গ্রেপ্তার করো|” কিন্তু একথা বলার সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই তার হাত পক্ষাঘাতগ্রস্ত হয়ে গেল, সে আর হাত নাড়াতে পারল না|
KJV : And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, at the king`s hearing the word of the man of God that he calleth against the altar in Beth-El, that Jeroboam putteth forth his hand from off the altar, saying, `Catch him;` and his hand is dried up that he hath put forth against him, and he is not able to bring it back unto him,
RV : And it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth-el, that Jeroboam put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.
RSV : And when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, "Lay hold of him." And his hand, which he stretched out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back to himself.
ASV : And it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth-el, that Jeroboam put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.
ESV : And when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, "Seize him." And his hand, which he stretched out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back to himself.
ERVEN : When King Jeroboam heard the message from the man of God about the altar in Bethel, he took his hand off the altar and pointed at the man. He said, "Arrest that man!" But when the king said this, his arm became paralyzed. He could not move it.

BNV : একই সঙ্গে বেদীটি টুকরো টুকরো হয়ে ভেঙ্গে সমস্ত ছাই মাটিতে ছড়িয়ে পড়ল| এর থেকেই ঈশ্বরের লোকরা কথার সত্যতা প্রমাণ হল|
KJV : The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.

ERVEN : Then the altar broke into pieces, and all its ashes fell onto the ground. This proved that what the man of God had said came from God.

BNV : তখন রাজা যারবিয়াম ঈশ্বরের লোককে বলল, “দয়া করে আপনার প্রভুর ঈশ্বরের কাছে আমার এই হাতটি আবার ঠিক করে দেবার জন্য প্রার্থনা করুন|”লোকটি তখন প্রভুর কাছে সেই প্রার্থনা করায রাজার হাত ঠিক হয়ে গেল|
KJV : And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored him again, and became as [it was] before.
YLT : And the king answereth and saith unto the man of God, `Appease, I pray thee, the face of Jehovah thy God, and pray for me, and my hand doth come back unto me;` and the man of God appeaseth the face of Jehovah, and the hand of the king cometh back unto him, and it is as at the beginning.
RV : And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Entreat now the favour of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God entreated the LORD, and the king-s hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
RSV : And the king said to the man of God, "Entreat now the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me." And the man of God entreated the LORD; and the king's hand was restored to him, and became as it was before.
ASV : And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Entreat now the favor of Jehovah thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God entreated Jehovah, and the kings hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
ESV : And the king said to the man of God, "Entreat now the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me." And the man of God entreated the LORD, and the king's hand was restored to him and became as it was before.
ERVEN : Then King Jeroboam said to the man of God, "Please pray to the Lord your God for me. Ask him to heal my arm." So the man of God prayed to the Lord, and the king's arm was healed, as it was before.

BNV : তখন রাজা ঈশ্বর প্রেরিত সেই লোকটিকে বলল, “অনুগ্রহ করে আপনি আমার সঙ্গে বাড়িতে গিয়ে খাওয়া-দাওয়া করবেন চলুন| আমি আপনাকে একটি উপহার দিতে চাই|”
KJV : And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.
YLT : And the king speaketh unto the man of God, `Come in with me to the house, and refresh thyself, and I give to thee a gift.`
RV : And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.
RSV : And the king said to the man of God, "Come home with me, and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward."

ERVEN : Then the king said to the man of God, "Please come home with me. Come and eat with me. I will give you a gift."

BNV : কিন্তু সেই লোকটি রাজাকে বলল, “তোমার অর্ধেক রাজত্ব আমাকে দিলেও আমি তোমার সঙ্গে যাবো না বা এখানে কোন পানাহার করব না|
KJV : And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:
YLT : And the man of God saith unto the king, `If thou dost give to me the half of thine house, I do not go in with thee, nor do I eat bread, nor do I drink water, in this place;
RV : And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:

BNV : প্রভু আমাকে এখানে কিছু খেতে বা পান করতে বারণ করেছেন| প্রভু আমাকে আরো নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন য়ে, য়ে রাস্তা দিয়ে আমি এখানে এসেছি, সেই রাস্তা দিয়ে য়েন না ফিরি|”
KJV : For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.
YLT : for so He commanded me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Thou dost not eat bread nor drink water, nor turn back in the way that thou hast come.`
RV : for so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Thou shalt eat no bread, nor drink water, neither return by the way that thou camest.

BNV : একথা বলে তিনি বৈথেলে আসার সময় য়ে রাস্তা দিয়ে এসেছিলেন, সেটাতে না গিয়ে অন্য একটা রাস্তা দিয়ে ফিরে গেলেন|
KJV : So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.
YLT : And he goeth on in another way, and hath not turned back in the way in which he came in unto Beth-El.
RV : So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Beth-el.
RSV : So he went another way, and did not return by the way that he came to Bethel.

BNV : বৈথেল শহরে সে সময় একজন বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদী বাস করতেন| তাঁর ছেলেরা এসে তাঁকে বৈথেলের এই ঈশ্বর প্রেরিত ব্যক্তির কার্য়কলাপের কথা জানালো|
KJV : Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.
YLT : And a certain aged prophet is dwelling in Beth-El, and his son cometh and recounteth to him all the deed that the man of God hath done to-day in Beth-El, the words that he hath spoken unto the king, -- yea, they recount them to their father.
RV : Now there dwelt an old prophet in Beth-el; and one of his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Beth-el: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them also they told unto their father.
RSV : Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel. And his sons came and told him all that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; the words also which he had spoken to the king, they told to their father.

ERVEN : There was an old prophet living in Bethel. His sons came and told him what the man of God did in Bethel and what he said to King Jeroboam.

BNV : সেই বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদী সব শুনে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “তিনি কোন্ রাস্তা দিয়ে ফিরে গেলেন?” ছেলেরা তখন যিহূদা থেকে আসা সেই ভাববাদী য়ে পথে ফিরে গিয়েছেন পিতাকে দেখালো|
KJV : And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.
YLT : And their father saith unto them, `Where [is] this -- the way he hath gone?` and his sons see the way that the man of God hath gone who came from Judah.
RV : And their father said unto them, What way went he? Now his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.
RSV : And their father said to them, "Which way did he go?" And his sons showed him the way which the man of God who came from Judah had gone.
ASV : And their father said unto them, What way went he? Now his sons had seen what way the man of God went, that came from Judah.
ESV : And their father said to them, "Which way did he go?" And his sons showed him the way that the man of God who came from Judah had gone.
ERVEN : The old prophet said, "Which way did he go when he left?" So the sons showed their father which road the man of God from Judah had taken.

BNV : বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদী তাঁর পুত্রদের তাঁর গাধায লাগাম লাগিয়ে দিতে বললেন এবং সেই গাধায চড়ে বেরিয়ে পড়লেন|
KJV : And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,
YLT : And he saith unto his sons, `Saddle for me the ass,` and they saddle for him the ass, and he rideth on it,
RV : And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon.
RSV : And he said to his sons, "Saddle the ass for me." So they saddled the ass for him and he mounted it.
ASV : And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass; and he rode thereon.
ESV : And he said to his sons, "Saddle the donkey for me." So they saddled the donkey for him and he mounted it.
ERVEN : The old prophet told his sons to saddle his donkey. They put the saddle on the donkey, and the prophet left.

BNV : বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদী ঈশ্বর প্রেরিত লোকটিকে খুঁজতে খুঁজতে অবশেষে দেখলেন একটা মস্ত বড় গাছের তলায় একজন বসে আছেন| তিনি প্রশ্ন করলেন, “আপনি কি ঈশ্বরের লোক যিনি যিহূদা থেকে এসেছেন?”ভাববাদী উত্তর দিলেন, “হ্যাঁ|”
KJV : And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, [Art] thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I [am. ]
YLT : and goeth after the man of God, and findeth him sitting under the oak, and saith unto him, `Art thou the man of God who hast come from Judah?` and he saith, `I [am].`
RV : And he went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.
RSV : And he went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak; and he said to him, "Are you the man of God who came from Judah?" And he said, "I am."
ASV : And he went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak; and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.
ESV : And he went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak. And he said to him, "Are you the man of God who came from Judah?" And he said, "I am."
ERVEN : The old prophet went after the man of God. He found him sitting under an oak tree and asked him, "Are you the man of God who just came from Judah?" The man of God answered, "Yes, I am."

BNV : তখন বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদী বললেন, “দয়া করে আমার সঙ্গে বাড়িতে চলুন, কিছু মুখে দেবেন|”
KJV : Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.
YLT : And he saith unto him, `Come with me to the house, and eat bread.`
RV : Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.
RSV : Then he said to him, "Come home with me and eat bread."
ASV : Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

ERVEN : So the old prophet said, "Please come home and eat with me."

BNV : কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের লোকটি এতে রাজি হলেন না| তিনি বললেন, “আমি আপনার সঙ্গে বাড়িতে য়েতে বা এখানে কোনো পানাহার করতে পারব না|
KJV : And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:
YLT : And he saith, `I am not able to turn back with thee, and to go in with thee, nor do I eat bread or drink with thee water in this place,
RV : And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:
RSV : And he said, "I may not return with you, or go in with you; neither will I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place;

ERVEN : But the man of God said, "I cannot go home with you. I cannot eat or drink anything in this place.

BNV : কারণ প্রভু আমায় নিষেধ করেছেন এবং বলেছেন, ‘তুমি য়ে রাস্তা দিয়ে যাবে সেই রাস্তা দিয়ে ফিরবে না|”‘
KJV : For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.
YLT : for a word [is] unto me by the word of Jehovah, Thou dost not eat bread nor drink there water, thou dost not turn back to go in the way in which thou camest.`

BNV : তখন বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদী বললেন, “আমিও আপনারই মতো এক জন ভাববাদী|” উপরন্তু তিনি বানিয়ে বললেন, “প্রভুর কাছ থেকে দূত এসে আমায় আপনাকে বাড়িতে নিয়ে গিয়ে আপনার পানাহারের ব্যবস্থা করতে বলেছেন|”
KJV : He said unto him, I [am] a prophet also as thou [art;] and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. [But] he lied unto him.
YLT : And he saith to him, `I also [am] a prophet like thee, and a messenger spake unto me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with thee unto thy house, and he doth eat bread and drink water;` -- he hath lied to him.
RV : And he said unto him, I also am a prophet as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. {cf15i But} he lied unto him.
RSV : And he said to him, "I also am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, `Bring him back with you into your house that he may eat bread and drink water.'" But he lied to him.
ASV : And he said unto him, I also am a prophet as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with thee into thy house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.
ESV : And he said to him, "I also am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, 'Bring him back with you into your house that he may eat bread and drink water.'"But he lied to him.
ERVEN : The old prophet lied to him and said, "But I am a prophet like you. And an angel from the Lord came to me and told me to bring you home and give you something to eat and drink."

BNV : তখন ঈশ্বর প্রেরিত সেই লোকটি বৃদ্ধ ভাববাদীর বাড়িতে গিয়ে তাঁর সঙ্গে পানাহার করলেন|
KJV : So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.
YLT : And he turneth back with him, and eateth bread in his house, and drinketh water.
